For 26 years, Dr. Eng. Christopher Ebal, has been working with the Judiciary in the Engineering and Technical Services, first as a one-man Unit that has grown over the years to a team of 27.
Earlier, Engineer Ebal, as he is fondly called, officially handed over office to Eng Priscilla Nakiboneka, the Principal Executive Engineer in the Engineering and Technical Services Department of the Judiciary.
This was during a Senior Management Committee meeting, where he bid farewell to the Committee after attaining the age of retirement on June 25.
He shared that he started working in the Judiciary in October 1998 as the only engineer in the Estates Unit. Over the years, the Unit has grown into a department boasting of 27 engineers.
Speaker after speaker commended Dr Ebal for his dedicated service, humility and mentorship that will be remembered for years to come.
Dr. Pius Bigirimana, the Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, hailed Eng. Dr. Ebal for his dedicated service since. He thanked him for the work he has done since 2019 when he (PS/SJ) started supervising him.
The Chief Registrar HW Sarah Langa Siu commended Eng. Ebal for his humility, mentorship, and support to her office. She thanked him for his kindness and availability.
The Under Secretary, Ms Maureen Kasande appreciated Eng. Dr. Ebal's service and noted that future generations would build on his work.
HW Rosemary Bareebe, Registrar High Court, commended his hands-on approach and passion for his job, and the indelible mark he has left behind.
Eng. Ebal thanked God, the Government of Uganda, and the Judiciary for the opportunities he received. He advised those remaining in Service to be fair, tolerant, innovative, and to work as a team. He emphasized the importance of a positive mindset, self-improvement, and trust in God. He assured everyone that he would always be available for consultation and expressed gratitude for the support he received from his boss.
Ms. Priscilla Nakiboneka thanked Eng. Dr. Ebal for his remarkable contributions, noting the growth of the Department from one person to 27. She pledged to continue working hard and leading the team forward.
The handover was witnessed by Registrars and Heads of Departments who included; HW Mary Kaitesi, HW Pamella Lamunu, HW Prossy Katushabe, HW Beatrice Atingu, HW John Paul Edoku, Commissioner Human Resource Management Ms. Apophia Tumwine, Ag. Commissioner Planning and Development Mr. Simon Peter Opolot, Principal Information and Technology Mr. David Sunday Kikabi, and Mr. Solomon Serukwaya from the Engineering and Technical Services Department.
The ceremony was moderated by Judiciary Public Relations Officer, HW James Ereemye Jumire Mawanda.
